A. Alikhanian national laboratory employees Tigran Karapetyan and Seda Sargsyan defended the PhD theses in November, 2013

On 11th of November in 2013 A. Alikhanyan National Laboratory employees T. Karapetyan from Cosmic Ray Division and Seda Sargsyan from the Center of cosmology and Astrophysics successfully defended their PhD theses. 

The topics of the theses were “Research of solar and thunderstorm modulation effects posed on the secondary  cosmic ray fluxes” and “The general theory of relativity and generalizations inspections by the seatellite data and Kolmogorov analysis ”.

The scientific advisers of students are professors Ashot Chilingaryan and Vahagn Gurzadian respectively.

From 2012 up to this day 14 PhD students and have defended their PhD theses; as well 2 senior scientists defend doctor of science in physics and mathematics degree.  A. Alikhanian National Laboratory continues preparing highly qualified specialists in the field of high energy physics and astrophysics. Furthermore, very soon the laboratory is going to open a Master Degree department, which is a strategic route for Armenia.

National laboratory also continues to host scientists from abroad, and one of them professor K. Y. Georgieva from Space Research and Technologies Institute kindely agreed to be a reviewer of the Tigran Karapetian’s dissertation. Other reviewers were professor. A. Danagulyan from Yerevan state university and professors N.Ananikyan and A.Sedrakyan from A.Alikhanyan national lab.

After listening reports of PhD students, reviewers comments and students answers scientific council assign the PhD degree to T.Karapetyan and S.Sargsyan. We congradulate young scientists and wish them fruitful work in national lab.
