CRD employee Karen Arakelyan defended the PhD thesis on October , 2012
On 23th October of 2012 A. Alikhanyan National Labaratory employee K.Arakelyan in the field of engineering dissertation defense was held. The theme of the thesis was: “New electronics for Space Environmental Viewing and Analysis Network (SEVAN) and Aragats Space Environmental Center (ASEC)”. Arakelyan’s supervisor was professor Ashot Chilingaryan. The opponents were S. Harutunyan and G. Vardanyan from AANL.
The aim of the dissertation is the development of new electronics that provides operability of existing and newly constructed detectors of elementary particles and the formation of additional information obtained with these detectors. The modern electronic system was created for reliable registration of time series of neutral and charged components of cosmic rays on the modules installed in SEVAN, in different countries and in the Aragats Space Weather Center (ASEC) detectors. The registration all components of secondary cosmic rays, not only of neutrons or muons as it is done in existing networks, will significantly improve the understanding of modulation effects and create a warning syst
orms.
