The Closed Nuclear CentresProgramme (CNCP) represents the United Kingdom's contribution to limiting the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by addressing threats arising from the nuclear legacy of the former Soviet Union. It reflects a shared endeavour to promote non-proliferation, disarmament, counter-terrorism and nuclear safety issues, which was embodied in the new Global Partnership launched by the G-8 countries at their summit in June 2002. CNCP is funded by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

It was mentioned tremendous success of the annual study visits to Great Britain for representatives of CNCP partner organizations from Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The seminars «Examples of Technology Commercialization from Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol and London» brought together representatives of nuclear physics institutes from former soviet republics, CNCP leaders from Russia and Great Britain and from HTSPE Ltd, which is responsible for the management of the Programme. Wholesome program of visits to the high tech entrepreneurships and universities prepared by Charles Monk helps participants to understand long term UK policy in technology transfer and get information on best examples of very difficult process of fulfilling conversion of research results in technology and finally in commercial product. During discussions the Armenian delegation was ensured that CNCP would take every opportunity to support the integration of the Armenian projects into regional and world markets. It will strive to promote business partnerships and will offer help with launching high technology products. The programme has also developed an approach whereby successful initiatives and methods are cloned to provide the basis for projects in other locations. CNCP continues to actively collaborate with created CNCP network, by organising study tours and seminars and by using professional specialist consultantsto help solve particular problems facing Programme participants. S.Harutyanyanhighly valuates the CNCP mission and future creation of the CNCP association and invites members of CNCP community to Armenia in 2012 for discussing possible forms and ways to continue this very successful attempt.
